Yours just popped right off. Mine won't pop off at all. Pretty sure one of the clips broke, the rest won't budge.

I have had people trapped in the back by this failure (that occurred with no "buzzing" sound as is supposedly the symptom.

This is an awesome video. Did it in 1 hour and 40. The grommets on the right side, you don't have to mess with. But he was on point with the whole video. Kudos points to him. I took the two silver bolts out on the left side of the handle that opens the door so I can get the cable out easier. And then I bolted it back afterwards and then pulled the whole assembly out

Good gosh.. I dont understand why they don't try to uncomplicate these door locks and windows. Simply unreal. I looked up this and the window actuator for the front door. These videos tell me a mechanic is worth it if he knows what he's doing. I would get lost in these jobs for most of the weekend.. I would not be surprised if a mechanic turns down the job even if I'm willing to pay well.

Incredible video! thanks for helping me take it apart and put it back together, hopefully the actuator was the problem! Symptom was it would close but if it was hot out, door would continue to try close but wouldn’t?? Just kept hearing the motor trying to close if you bumped it would sometimes help!

I just can’t seem to reconnect the main panel back to the actuator panel. Is it absolutely necessary for them to be connected as long as the linkage is functioning?

Just did one today, I've been a tech for 26 years. What a pile of engineering cluster f@!(k. I swore like a sailer. Got it done but geez. Besides that book time showed 1.7 hrs. Glad I saw many posts on the actual time.

Just a comment that these instructions won't work in every situation. In my case, I can't open the door at all, thanks to Dodge/Chrysler's defective actuator design. My door is locked shut and part of the instructions here say to open the door to get the panel off. Thanks for putting it together. It looks like quite a few people were helped - just not me 😞.

IMPORTANT!! Try forcing open the lock on the sliding door while pressing the unlock button on the driver 's door it may clear the jam in the actuator and fix the problem. Try it several times if it doesn't work from the first time.

I have yet to come across an engineered design worth the salary of an engineer. Some of the dumbest people in the world are engineers. I've been Fighting this stupid panel for over 6 hours - I can't get it out of the door. I'm calling defeat.

For anyone who is attempting this there is a more simple way to remove and install the door latch/actuator assembly. First you want to remove the window by removing the outer trim on glass. Remove the 2 bolts holding the window track and slide it over then the window will come out. You'll have much more space to work with and you can remove the whole door card along with everything that is attached to it. And to install it is alot easier to get the window channel over the brace with the window out.

My symptoms for a 2014 passenger sliding door as as such: If I open the door via button on dash or FOB, it will open, but the little hook that is meant to engage on the latch at the bottom inside rear of the door at the track, does not engage and will sometimes hook and hold with help from me and most of the times not engage. If it does engage, and stays hooked, if I try to close the door with the FOB or dash, it will start closing and ALMOST close but will need a push form my hand to latch and shut. If the hook does not engage, it will. not even try to close on its own. It works fine to open and close manually, and the latch will close the door properly when assisted by me. Based on my description above, has anyone had similar and this fExcellent DIY Fix was the ticket? Thanks in Advance!

I could not have done this without your video. Thank you!! Best on UA-cam for this type of thing. It took several hours over three days, but its finally done and working!! In hindsight, I might have just paid someone the $800. It may not be an engine teardown, but it's close!
